New workhorse 4-wheeler hits market! First Look: 2024 Can Am Outlander PRO
Can Am takes a big swing at the 700cc class!
The 2024 Can Am Outlander PRO đ

Can Am really did their homework this time! How do I know, you ask? Because, people love this quad, and they are backing it up with their hard-earned cash. Or loading up the credit card LOL. So, I had to take a second look myself. AND here we are. Ladies and gentlemen, the 2024 Can Am Outlander PRO.

First off, who is this quad made for?
Ranchers, Farmers, Homesteaders, and anyone looking to use their quad for work.
Itâs clear to me this quad was designed with a specific buyer in mind. Itâs for the guy or gal looking to put in some serious work around their farm or ranch and at the same time get a quad that allows them to do some good oleâ trail riding and sling some mud every now and then.

How is this machine better?
The Outlander PRO comes with heavy-duty shocks which means you can load it up with more weight vs your average utility quad. Not only that, but the transmission and gearing is different. Itâs like owning a tractor, this thing haul the TITANIC out of the ocean thanks to its lower gearing. Yes, your top end speed suffers, but that low end grunt? Baby, its what you were looking for if you were planning to tow and haul around the ranch.
Cool, what other features does it have?
A speed limiter
The intentionality of this machine does not stop there. If you are a farmer or a rancher or intend to do any kind of work with this quad⌠keep reading. This machine offers much, much more for you. For example: âA speed limiterâ which is really a cruise control feature! Cruise control on a quad? What do I need that for? Well, if you are pulling an implement, using a sprayer, or performing an activity that can benefit from constant speed, this feature is your best friend.

3 Different Engine Modes
WORK, STANDARD, and PLAY modes on the right side of the handlebar means youâll have a quad with a throttle that responds the way you want it to, every time.

3 Levels of Engine Braking
Suit your pace. This quad can stop you without you having to use your brakes. How? Engine braking. Trust me when you find out how it works, youâll find out how and when to use it. Towing a small trailer? Good engine braking definitely helps control that weight, which makes your ride more comfortable and allows you to work better.
Now, Letâs talk engines..
But first.. Letâs talk one of my favorite subjects: the engines that make this beast run. Itâs got 2 engine options, Can Am calls them âHD5â and âHD7â. Both engine options are actually the same 650cc displacement and share the same internals. The difference lies in more aggressive computer programming and a higher performing camshaft on the HD7 which manages to pump 10 more ponies out of the same 650cc engine. The official numbers are 40 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque for the HD5 and 50 hp and a torque of 41 lb-ft for the HD7.

The HD5 and the HD7 look identical on the outside, but the HD7 pumps 10 extra ponies.

The belt drive on this pup is brand-new. Better clutch pulleys = more reliability.
Another favorite? The âLINQâ system.
About 75 accessories compatible with the Linq system are available. You name it! Front and rear storage boxes, a chainsaw support, a very cool looking flat gas tank which is installed in the space of the trunk in front, a windshield, hand guards, etc. The world is truly your oyster with this neat system setup.

To summarize the CAN AM OUTLANDER PROâŚ.
This quad has big shoes to fill, but I think the team back at BRP and Can Am definitely made the best impression with this quad. Theyâve nailed their target market to a tee. Everyone one who has a ranch, farm, lives off the grid (or a variation of it) or aspired to take care of their homestead canât go wrong with this one.
Stay on the Lookout, as I will be shortly releasing a video review of this quad on my YouTube Channel also called Quads & Boots. Subscribe now here: Quads & Boots - YouTube
